Neptune in the Wind, the monumental marble sculpture by Léo Caillard, is now installed at Narbonne-Plage. Standing 2.30 m tall and weighing over 6 tons, it is the largest marble work by the artist and one of the most impressive marble sculptures visible in French urban spaces.
In Arte Veritas gallery is pleased to announce the official delivery of Neptune in the Wind to Narbonne. The sculpture is now installed at Narbonne-Plage, on the Didier-Mouly Esplanade, facing the sea, where it engages in a dialogue with the horizon and the Mediterranean landscape.
Carved from marble, the sculpture stands nearly 2.30 meters tall and weighs over 6 tons. It is the largest marble sculpture ever created by Léo Caillard and ranks among the largest marble sculptures visible in French urban spaces. Its creation required nearly 7 months of meticulous work, from design to carving.
With Neptune in the Wind, the artist continues to explore the dialogue between ancient heritage and contemporary vision. The mythological figure appears animated by the wind, as solid marble transforms into a sense of movement. Here, the power of marble meets the lightness of breath, in a controlled tension that defines the artist’s work.
We are especially proud to have supported this ambitious project from its conception to its final installation. This monumental work is now a permanent feature of Narbonne-Plage, offering visitors and locals an open-air artistic experience.
The sculpture is freely accessible to the public.
