Born in 1951 in Bilbao, where he still lives and works, Alejandro Quincoces has been passionate about both music and painting from a young age.

He began his fine arts studies at the age of 36 and quickly gained recognition in Spain through various awards and inclusion in numerous collections. He is also regularly exhibited in Europe and the United States.

His primary focus is on urban landscapes: cities, factories, highways viewed from a distance or up close, capturing a moment of daily reality amidst the relentless flow of time.

Through the layering of oil paint on wood, he seeks to capture the vibrant light of his surroundings. His work is mature and powerful, where the interplay of texture and light creates subtle vibrations. The artist plays with the tension between abstraction and representational painting.
