On this tropical land, I experienced both the limits and the infinities of insularity. On the island, not much happened. The space and time for inner leisure were immense. This is how I nourished my wild side—the boundlessness of dreams and imagination, and the incredible luxuriance of inner landscapes. I drank the intoxication of blues, I sang with the winds, I ate the red and ochre earth. My Wilderness is a manifesto of sovereignty for every wild child that slumbers within us.
